White Water Rafting

Splash! My raft is now in the water. “Here comes some rapids!” Our helper Bones said. “Forward paddle” he said. Heaps of water flew at my face. Finally it was over. I was glad I didn't fall of. “Stop!” Bones yelled. We could here the Chinchillas yelling “one two , one two.”Then we saw a group stop. We tried to compute why they stopped. So we stopped. One of the instructors called Dion got a group to river cross. He said “Biggest person at the front smallest at the back.”Then it was our turn.I was at the back because I was the smallest. “Forward” Bones said. He kept on repeating it until he said “back”. After that, we got back in the raft and started rafting. Then we saw a group crash into Carnage Corner. “Forward paddle!” Bones yelled. We were heading straight into Carnage Corner. “Hold on!” Bones shouted. I griped on as fast as I could. BANG! I was flung in the air. A couple of hours later we saw a team stop for lunch. The instructor of that team said “ For lunch we are having sandwiches and water melon.” After lunch we saw a waterfall. “Wow,” everyone in my group said. “Here comes some rapids” bones bellowed. “I’m going to make more fun,” Bones exclaimed “left forward right back!”. That made us start to spin. “Woooooooh!” everyone shouted. “Hey look its a whirlpool,”Bones said. “weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,” That was fun I said to myself. A couple of minutes later we were in this pond thingy. We saw other groups doing some wheelys. Then after that we stopped our journey.

Ending for The Great White Man-Eating Shark

Today we have been making our own ending for Margaret Mahy's The Great White Man-Eating Shark. Here is mine.
“Help shark, shark!” Mrs Scorpio yelled.
Then under water the rare sticky grey ink squid came and squirted grey sticky ink all over Norvin.
“Yuck!” he said as the ink went all over him.
Above the water Mr Leo passed Mrs Scorpio a frying pan and Mrs Scorpio banged Norvin in the head.

Back at Mrs Scorpio’s bakery Mr Leo asked Mrs Scorpio if she had any new pie flavours.
“Yes!” She replied “It’s called shark pie!”.

The end.

In memory of Margaret Mahy 1936-2012.
